Egu.kz — a website about vaccination in Kazakhstan

Website · 2021 · egu.kz

We made a lively, clear and visually fresh website about immunization in Kazakhstan.

The website was created with the participation of UNICEF, USAID, the National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and doctors of the MedSupportKz community.

“Egu.kz” (egu is Kazakh for “get vaccinated”) tells about disease prevention, scientifically confirmed facts about vaccination, and the opinions of verified experts.

Against myths

According to research, myths are one of the main reasons that reduce the level of vaccination in the country. That is why the home page greets the visitor with a huge block of common myths.

Detailed, but without officialese

Each myth is described in detail and debunked: site visitors can easily learn the history of the myth’s origin and will find links to independent research.

Vaccines and diseases have their own pages, and they are conveniently cross-linked. For example, having read about the consequences of the flu, a site visitor can easily go to the page about the vaccine, and from it — to the page with the addresses of vaccination centers.

The history of vaccines will help to better understand the topic, and the national vaccination calendar — help to plan a trip to the hospital.

The high-contrast version of the site increases the accessibility of information.
